Gedac Electric has been manufacturing electrical distribution equipment at the Jeddah facility in Saudi Arabia since 1978, under a licensing arrangement with General Electric, USA. The licensing agreement covers the manufacture of medium and low voltage equipment.
All GEDAC manufactured products are designed and produced as per ANSI and IEC standards. GEDAC ANSI products are manufactured in accordance with GE specifications, GE drawings are used throughout the manufacturing process and all materials are purchased from GE approved suppliers. The entire contents of the supplied articles comply with GE specifications and requirements.
GEDAC IEC MV Switchgear products are as per EFACEC specifications and technical documentation. GEDAC’s manufacturing facility covers an area of 19,000 square metres out of a plant size of 20,780 square metres. Machinery using the latest technology is in operation for punching, shearing, cutting, welding and painting. GEDAC benefits from the finest technical support available from GE-USA and EFACEC, world leaders in technology. Documentation and technical support ensure that GEDAC has access to the latest technological advancements. GEDACs engineering department is equipped with the latest Auto-Cad software and a fully computerised system which enables engineers to work on projects from the planning stage through manufacture to delivery. GEDACs engineers are highly qualified and frequently visit GE plants in the USA / Europe and EFACEC plants in Portugal, to ensure they keep abreast of recent developments to be able to meet changing and competitive market requirements.
GEDAC also has a fully computerised procurement and inventory system ensuring full control of all materials.

The GEDAC warehouse stores a large inventory of stock ensuring just in time delivery. More than 7,000 stock items are controlled by a fully automised inventory system assuring availability and automatic stock replenishment when minimum levels are reached.
